Hyperloop

Pas encore été posté il me semble. Globalement, ca resemble un peu au TrensQuebec, en un peu plus réalisable.

Et énormément plus rapide. Une bien meilleurs solution que le transquebec a mon avis.

 

Et le gars qui a fait faire les plan en est pas a sa première idée audacieuse. Il a PayPal, il a fondé la première compagnie privé a faire des vols spatiaux et il a fonder le 2 ieme fabriquant mondial de panneau solaire.

 

Il laisse les donnees d'ingénierie open source mais pense dans 10 ans si ce n'est pas fait se lancer dans le projet.

 

Vu que toutes les données sont open source, tout le monde peut sen servir pour réaliser le projet !

 

Une expertise la dedans serait franchement mieux que celle des éolienne pas rentable...

It would be interesting to see this happen for short distances, say like: Montreal to Quebec or Montreal to Toronto or even Montreal to New York.

How about, working in Toronto but living in Montreal? I wonder how much it would cost to get a "hyperloop" monthly pass and will it take business away from VIA and airlines. Plus how frequently can it go and move people.

That would be the best, Montreal living and lifestyle with Toronto salaries and bonuses that you can spend in Montreal! Of course it would happen in a generation from now (if ever), but it's a nice thought. Obviously AC would lose some business but we don't care. As for Via, it would become as relevant as Blockbuster...

That's exactly where I wanted the discussion to go. (Unconsciously?)

 

Regardless, the possibility that you both jerry and jesseps evoke (living in Montreal, working in Toronto) appears very real. Already, a similar albeit perhaps somewhat lesser phenomenon already exists in France, where (some) commuters residing hundreds of kilometers away from Paris work in this city, thanks to the TGV (train à grande vitesse). However, I doubt that this can ever be applicable on a massive scale.

Very interesting proposition that jesse brought up! In theory, it would take the same time to do Montreal-Toronto via hyperloop than Mississauga-Toronto via the GO train , and even less time than further cities in the gta like Oakville, Hamilton, Markham, etc via the GO train.

 

Toronto salaries and opportunity for advancement, means more disposable income spent in Montreal while living in Montreal (all else being equal).

 

What effects do you guys think this will have on the Montreal job market though? It would probably weaken it? Why work here when I could go fetch an extra 10-20k over there for the same job?
