basketball La NBA revient à Montréal

Le basket est populaire en espagne c'est meme la deuxième puissance mondial derriere les usa depuis plusieurs années. Le plus drôles dans tout ca c'est que c'est un prof de Mcgill qui a inventer ce sport.

 

Je crois que les medias sont un peu responsable du peu de variété dans les sports au québec. On en a que pour le hockey. Heureusement un regain d'intérêt pour le foot de l'impact cette année.

Je ne connais rien au basketball et ce n'est pas un sport qui m'attire. Par contre si ca peut être bon pour Montréal alors tant mieux. Mais je ne sais pas trop comment ca peut être bon pour Montréal. Car l'argent dépensé au basket ne sera pas dépensé ailleurs, à mon avis.

 

Au contraire du baseball, qui est un sport d'été et qui permet aux touristes de venir voir du baseball en été et aussi aux banlieusards et même aux québécois des régions de venir en ville l'été. Je ne crois pas qu'il y aurait beaucoup de touristes l'hiver pour venir voir du basket. Mais je me trompe peut-être et je ne demande qu'à être convaincu.

You're bringing in a team and management staff who have a payroll of 100m USD, who will spend their money in the city to buy homes and other goods/services. People going to the bell centre will spend money downtown, corporations will spend, etc.

 

Point being, the wealth will get redistributed. I don't see how this is negative at all.

Would be nice to get a basket team in montreal. But the main problem would be to get dates for the games at the Bell Center one of the busiest arena in north america.

 

Mon filleul et son frère jouent au basket. C'est très populaire aussi avec certaine partie de la population immigrante a montreal. Surtout les caribéens.

Une chose que je deplore c'est le peu de terrain de basket a montreal. Pourtant ca ne coute pas tellement cher et en plus l'avantage majeur le terrain est plus petit. Et ca peut se jouer tres bien a deux personnes ou a 2 contre 2 .

I didn't say it was negative to have a basketball team. I just hope the money spent at that game is not diverted money that would have been spent somewhere else in the ''entertaining industry'' such as restaurants, théâtres, music venues etc.

 

But you are right about restaurants and bars in the downtown/Bell centre area, they normally would benefit from it. Hopefully corporations would also participate a lot.

Thats more of a baseball thing, I've been on a few baseball trips and it amazing. It would work better if we get the expos back.

Avoir une équipe de la NBA augmenterait notre assiette touristique et de divertissement. Surtout qu'en hivers, cette assiette est un peu plus petite qu'en été. Ça fera aussi une activité potentielle pour les congressistes ou autres touristes d'affaires qui doivent visiter Montréal. Sans compter la visibilité accrue chez tous les amateurs de basketball.
