378 condos would be about 27 floors unless they can't have underground parking at this site either which would make it maybe 32 floors. What is the zoning on this site? 120m?

 

Non, ces terrains sont zonés 65 mètres. C'est justement la demande de dérogation qu'ils ont fait auprès de la ville; faire passer le zonage à 120 mètres.

Je crois que l'autoroute Ville Marie passe en-dessous du terrain ? Alors probablement de bonnes chances pour des stationnements hors terre.

Guys read the initial article 378 condos and a hotel element and 230 parking spaces!!!The hotel element should add 10 to 12 floors?????Recalculate your height estimates but then again floor plate size will also come into play. So let's wait and see!!

I heard that they would never build a tower south of Tour des Canadiens that would block the view of the top 10 floors. De la Montagne street being a slope, I think that it rests about 3 floors lower than the base of Tour des Danadiens. So a tower of 37 floors would make sense there.

MONTREAL — Cadillac Fairview Corp. Ltd’s $2-billion vision for a new Montreal neighbourhood south of St-Antoine St. would begin with two 38-storey towers containing hundreds of condo units and a new pedestrian overpass attached to the Bell Centre, city documents show.

 

Montreal’s softening condo market hasn’t slowed a 15-year plan by Cadillac Fairview — developer of the sold-out Tour des Canadiens — that would extend the city’s downtown core below the Bell Centre, through the building of four new towers, along with one million square feet of commercial development, stretching from de la Montagne to Peel Sts. The first part of the long-term project by the Toronto-based real-estate arm of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan — as described in plans submitted recently for city approval — would build two towers on a rectangular tract of land stretching from de la Montagne to Jean-D’Estrées Sts. The first tower, to be marketed as a second phase of the Tour des Canadiens, would have 378 condos, 230 parking spots and a rooftop terrasse, all connected to the Bell Centre through an overpass above St-Antoine St.

 

Neither Cadillac Fairview, nor the developer’s Tour des Canadiens partner, Canderel Group, could be reached for comment on Wednesday.

 

The new development project — to be examined during a public consultation — comes at a time when the city of Montreal is desperate to stem the flight of families to the suburbs in search of affordable housing. With the city facing criticism over insufficient family-oriented services and housing units in Griffintown, mayoral candidates have widely expressed the need for building larger apartments.

I dont think the autoroute is a real issue. If you check google map, you will see that the autoroute passes just barely under the lower portions of the available lots on st-antoine.
