Trust me, I'm awake, but others here don't have the desire nor ambition to go bigger and become advanced. The ones who agree with me leave, which sucks honestly but I understand them as well.

I think that Montreal is getting back on the right track. Its true that Toronto is way ahead especially in term of economic power and everything but thats mostly because of Montreal’s lack of ambition, corruption etc etc in the past decades. Today the situation seems to be different, cranes are back in the city, the city is booming (smaller boom than Toronto’s of course). But I think that no one can deny that things are now happening in Montreal. We might never be Toronto’s equal just like LA will never be New York’s but I dont think that we’re miserable. We used to be tho but I have faith in the future and I love what I’m seeing in my city. Depuis ma naissance c’est la premiere fois que je vois un tel élan dans ma ville, oui contrairement a la plupart d’entre vous je n’ai pas vécu la passation de pouvoir des annees 60-70. Just hope it doesnt stop.

I have hope as well, but it starts with peoples desires and having proper leadership. Younger generations want to become bigger but many still leave, and the leadership we have in the city is too small thinking. We need someone who can bring stability but also take risks and think big. We don't have to be Toronto big, I'm ok with that, but we need to start acting like the 8th largest N.A city that we are.

Yes you’re definetely right. However we have seen very encouraging things happening in the past two years. Can you imagine that people are complaining about the Tour des Canadiens 2 ? Saying its ugly ? I think its funny because ten years ago, when our biggest projetc was the Crystal de la montagne, everyone would ve been so excited about it !! Thats why Im saying that the city has entered a new era and that there are more reasons right now to be happy than to be sad. If it was up to me I would want Montreal to be bigger than Toronto bigger than London and what not but I think its better to be realistic, to look at what Montreal can be in the future rather than what it could’ve been if we had not made so many mistakes.

Ego? What about being competitive and stop losing head offices to Toronto. Losing our brains trained by your tax dollars.

Honestly let’s all stop the mediocrity. We need to be competitive with Toronto and we simply are not

I'd step it up, not only be competitive with Toronto but with some American cities as well, we gotta think big. It'll benefit Canada as well since it'll make/force other cities to compete. But unfortunately, we elected an anti-business socialist government for MTL + 2018 with the Libs is up in the air now, it was a good run. Hopefully, it'll change soon with future generations.
