The next step will be intensification. Taking a building like this, reinforcing it structurally, and adding floors to it. There are several such possibilities along Rene-Levesque, and I can't wait for some of the Class B/Class C 10 floor office buildings to undergo transformations like this. 

true dat! I could name a few buildings on the north side of René-Lévesque between Robert-Bourassa and Saint-Alexandre that could use major facelifts/intensification.

Il ne manque pas effectivement d'édifices à rénover ou simplement à remplacer dans le coeur du c-v. Mais ici il faut nécessairement procéder au cas par cas. Tout est une question de site et de valeur du terrain. Avec l'appréciation immobilière, plusieurs de ces immeubles de petit gabarit ne sont tout simplement plus vraiment rentables, si on les compare à la moyenne. On peut donc s'attendre à quelques démolitions dans les prochaines années avec un changement d'échelle, notamment sur R-L. Une façon de densifier in situ, en profitant de  l'excellente localisation de plusieurs, qui pourront en l'occurrence atteindre les nouvelles limites de hauteur.
