    TAP Air Portugal to YUL

An airliners.net thread says this article in a Portuguese: TAP lanca nova rota para o Canada ja em 2017 ..claims Montreal will be their next North American destination. I don't read Portuguese but let's hope for this one to be true. Here's the relevant quote from the article* "Numa primeira fase é antecipado pelo setor que a transportadora aérea avance para Montreal, alargando a operação, numa etapa posterior, também a Toronto." "In the first phase is anticipated by the industry that the airline go to Montreal, extending the operation at a later stage, also to Toronto." "Dans la première phase est prévue par l'industrie que la compagnie aérienne aller à Montréal, étendant l'opération à un stade ultérieur, également à Toronto."

    Tunisair to YUL April 2016?

http://tourismeplus.com/html/article.php?idnouvelle=24759 Can we be expecting an actual announcement soon, already been delayed twice.
  11. Who will it be? First to bring the A350 to YUL.
  12. We've heard alot about Asia recently, but what about India. There's no question the Indian sub-continent is a HUGE market, and one that is growing rapidly. We've seen big success' in the YYZ-DEL, YVR-DEL and now YYZ-BOM flights....so.... A question for those in the know....How long (2, 5, 10 years...) until YUL will see a service to India from AI, AC or another carrier.

    Aviation industry in Montreal

I wonder if there should be a new Sub-forum for the aviation industry here. It is a hugely significant industry for Montreal and it seems as if many of the participants here are interested in it. However, it doesn't very well into news and views on airlines and YUL.

    YUL 747 Airport Bus

Hello everyone, I'm an airline employee and a big proponent of YUL and it's future development. Lately I have been using Toronto's public transit system to get to the airport. Even though not as developed as ours, their subway, combined with the new 192 Airport Rocket, is really a winning combination, and has made me really step back and take at look at YUL and our airport access (just a bit better than terrible). From Kipling station the Airport Rocket is a 15 minute express bus from a metro directly to Terminal 1, 3 and Airport road near the hotels. Now before you start, yes, I know Montreal has this too in our 747 bus, directly from Lionel Groulx. However, the difference lies in that the Toronto express bus is part of their transit system, and only costs 3.00$, and a transfer from anywhere else in the network is valid. Why on earth would we charge 10$ for such a service?!?! It should almost be free! Anyway, I just wish the STM would make the 747 a regular bus line with a regular fare and transfers from the other parts of the network accepted, then we could call our airport SOMEWHAT accessible. And don't even get me started on the fact they now have direct train access......argh Rant Over.
  16. With a bunch of new aircrafts coming, including A321LR, YUL is on the list of destinations TAP would like to add http://livestream.com/livestreaming-pt/tap Neeleman speaks to TP staff. This was a live stream but recordings are available. http://livestream.com/livestreaming-pt/tap a poster on the other forum (FT) gave the basic rundown "Main points... 1. Change the company culture to be one more similar to B6 and Azul 2. No layoffs 3. Compete with Ryanair - segment the market better, reduce seat pitch on short-haul (A319/320/321) 4. A350 was changed to A330-900neo, because A350 has higher operating costs and TP doesn't need the range. 5. Cabin: Economy (30-31" pitch), Economy+ (34" pitch) and biz. Skycouch in economy. 6. A321LR - useful for east coast US and northeastern Brazil (it has the range). Very useful in low season. 7. A321LR cabin: 16 layflat biz, 42 E+ (34") 117 Econ (31-32"). Biz seats look like they're staggered. 8. Network: N.America: +BOS, IAD, ORD,YUL,YYZ, BDL [doesn't Neeleman live there???] S.America: +JPA, PHB, AJU, more frequencies to existing hubs, cross-polinate with Azul Europe: "Rationalize markets and increase frequency and strength in key/largest markets" Africa: "Grow in constrained markets and strength in key/largest markets"
